Great moment this come back of Thalia, French cult quartet of the 90's, 2000! Like everyone, the band has been riding the roller coaster of Life, up and down, through its successes, its projects, its separations and finally, its reunion! As a result, the compositions of this new album were written between 2000 and 2013 (which explains their diversity) and then rearranged in 2020. The band then surrounded themselves with a formidable team, in terms of both skills and a real desire to share in the project. Stan W Decker for the artwork, excellent illustrator, well-known for having collaborated with countless bands and artists of international fame. Nicolas Lhenry at Underhouse Studio (recording, mixing and mastering) Steven Rozier & Chris. at KNT Studio (recording of lead vocals). "The River Of Books" is quite simply the accomplishment of a work matured over 2 decades! The timeless and universal themes explored in this album follow in the footsteps of "Forest of Minds" (2000). The environment, the madness (and the magic) of Life, spirituality, and above all, the tyranny that humanity has ostensibly become by destroying everything around it... The music was conceived in the pure "THALIA sound": with its particular groove, its refined melodies, deep emotion, a voice that is immediately recognizable, accompanied by backing vocals alternating tough ferocity with tender softness. It is the fruit of the unique marriage of our 4 personalities! "The River of Books" is thus the apotheosis and accomplishment born of our pleasure in getting back together again. We hope you'll feel it too and we'll conclude with this aphorism by Shakespeare, a playful reference to « Forest », and also to the madness to come, both yours and ours: « Life is a tale told by an idiot ». And on that note, off we go...
