Originally released in 1983 at the start of the record label, this album showcases her deep emotional voice along with Tom Garvin's inseparable styling that has created a sentimental and heartfelt collection of tunes. Growing up near Philadelphia, she was not shy about the world of jazz she was immersed in at a young age and has continued throughout the years with one exception, when she was married to Dave Grusin. She has performed with Charlie Ventura, John Coltrane, Red Garland, Philly Joe Jones, and Harry James at the Monterey Jazz Festival. She had also released earlier albums on the Kapp and Roost labels. By the time she arrived in L.A., she began working with Shelly Manne and worked on TV opposite Dick Van Dyke and the comedy team of Rowan and Martin. Becoming part of the L.A. "In-Crowd", she also appeared on the Tonight Show. She has been noted during her career as "one of the best big band singers", "an artist's representation of the self", "inherent good taste in her style and choice of material", "Price delivers them with consuming intimacy", and finally, "This disk is so fine". This album featured musicians including the late Tom Garvin on piano, Andy Simpkins on bass, Roy McCurdy on drums and Pete Christlieb on tenor sax. Nowadays, she is the Artistic Director for the L.A. Club, The Jazz Bakery. And she is an adjunct assistant professor at the UCLA Department of Ethnomusicology.
