From '87 to '89, the band played grindcore. On their '89 demo, Satanas Tedeum, their sound shifted to black metal. With the release of A Dead Poem, the band's sound evolved towards gothic metal realms. They started going back to their heavier era on Khronos and on Sanctus Diavolos they blackened their sound even more. With Theogonia, the band began incorporating folk/world music into their music.
