As music historian Bill Dahl says, "Album-length tributes to blues greats of decades past are nothing new, but this collection is truly special. It's one legendary brother paying tribute to another, who just happens to be one of the greatest bluesmen of all time." My Brother's Blues received a silver medal for outstanding achievement in the Global Music Awards and was a 16th Independent Music Awards nominee in the "Tribute Album" category. Freddie King's band, then for Mighty Joe Young and lastly for Marva Wright. However, his roots and influence in gospel music are also noteworthy. A member of the Chicago Blues Hall of Fame and winner of the Independent Music Awards Best Blues Song, Turner is also a 2018 Blues Music Award Nominee in the Bass Instrumentalist category. NOTE: THIS CD WAS ORIGINALLY RELEASED ON 9/15/2017

Press Quotes

Freddie and Benny toured the circuit together and each learned from each other. Songs we all remember from King's songbook... and MORE gems are all well represented here as only Benny could play them.

—Shameless James Ronan, Blue Monday Monthly

This is a great introduction to Benny Turner and a great reminder of the powerful music that Freddie King left us.

     —Graham Clarke, BluesBytes

To sum up briefly, this is a wonderful, classy release. Blues albums this good don't come along too often.
