Debut album of Jazz/new age vocalist backed by Jazz All-Stars John Wiitala, Todd Strait, David Evans and Grammy nominated pianist Randy Porter.

In the early 2000's Anandi made a decision to turn from the Americana style to jazz. With a reverence for the great jazz singers of the past, such as Sarah Vaughn and Carmen McRae, she set out to sing the more challenging melodies and moods of jazz standards. On ''True To Love'', she offers a collection of jazz tunes past and present, weaving contemporary selections with lesser-known standards and old soldiers.

Daughter of former RCA recording artist Rachel Faro and Portland Latin jazz drummer and KMHD radio host Nick Gefroh. Anandi began singing backing vocals for her mother in clubs and concert halls at the age of 12.

Press Quotes

''Get ready, 'cause there's a lot to like about Anandi's new recording. First and foremost, she's a Portland-based, no nonsense, real deal jazz singer. No show biz shtick here. Just straight forward, thoroughly honest jazz chops! Anandi supplies...a swinging feel for all of her material. What a delight this is!''

     —George Fendel, Jazzscene

''So many female singer-songwriters name Joni Mitchell as an influence...Anandi is one of the few with enough melodic flair to live up to the comparison...''

     —Daniel Gewertz, The Boston Herald
